Alexis decided to escape the bitter cold of New York by coming down to the Caribbean for a few days. Scuba diving was at the top of her list of new adventures to try! We started off by orientating her with the fundamentals of scuba diving and learning how the equipment works. From there we moved into shallow water to practice a couple key skills, and during a swim around we even spotted an octopus in the daytime!
Her confidence had grown during confined water, but Alexis was still a little nervous and excited as she went out for a dive to Seaquest Shallow. Next thing you know, she was underwater blowing bubbles and taking in our healthy and beautiful Mesoamerican reef! Alexis was even lucky enough to spot the majestic spotted eagle ray on her very first dive!.
We are so proud that Alexis overcame her nerves and tried out scuba diving for the first time. She thinks she might pursue her full PADI Open Water Diver certification in the future.
Congratulations, Alexis, on a job well done!
