Before this training dive, your instructor will show you how to use your compass effectively to find your way around Roatan's reef. You'll learn how to set compass headings and maintain them accurately and how to navigate a square or rectangular pattern. PADI Wreck Diving... Discover how to safely explore wrecks by diving a huge submerged cargo ship which rests in 30m/100ft of water, just off the shores of Roatan island...
Prior to setting out, we will teach you th proper techniques and important safety considerations to be aware of when diving on wrecks underwater. You will learn about the potential hazards of wreck diving and how to best avoid them, as well the best ways of navigating your way around a sunken vessel. You'll see why it's important to obtain a local orientation on wrecks you wish to explore, when we head out to El Aguila, a cargo ship which lays in 30m/200ft of blue water and was purpose sunk for diving in 1997 just off Roatan island!

Before heading out on your first deep dive experience, we will teach you the proper ascent and descent techniques, and show you which specialized equipment is recommended for deep diving off Roatan. You'll learn about the physiological effects of deep diving including how to recognize and respond to nitrogen narcosis if it occurs and how diving deeper affects both your air consumption and ability to see colors underwater.
